How to choose the grinding amount when grinding stainless steel?

Stainless steel cylindrical grinding
The speed of the ceramic bond grinding wheel is 30-35 m/s; The resin bond has a grinding wheel speed of 35 to 50 m/s. When surface burns are found, the wheel speed should be reduced to 16-20 m/s.

Workpiece speed, when the workpiece diameter is less than 50 mm, n=120~150 r/min; When it is larger than 50 mm, n=40 to 80 r/min. When the surface is ground by the outer circle of the grinding wheel, the moving speed of the table is generally 15-20 m/min, and the rough grinding is 5-50 m/min. Grinding depth and lateral feed amount are small, taking a large value. When the amount of lateral feed is large, take a small value. The rough grinding depth is 0.04 to 0.08 mm and the finishing depth is 0.01 mm. The grinding depth should be reduced after dressing the grinding wheel.
The longitudinal feed amount during cylindrical grinding is (0.2-0.7) B mm/r for rough grinding and (0.2-0.3) B mm/r for fine grinding;
The longitudinal feed amount during internal grinding is (0.4-0.7) B mm/r for rough grinding and (0.25-0.4) B mm/r for fine grinding;
The lateral feed rate of the outer surface of the grinding wheel is (0.3-0.7) B mm/dst during rough grinding and (0.05-0.1) B mm/dst during fine grinding.


Grinding of stainless steel What should pay attention to?
1. The grinding wheel should be trimmed in time, and the grinding wheel should be trimmed rough when rough grinding. The grinding wheel should always be sharp when grinding, so as not to overheat burn. No burrs are allowed at the corners on both sides of the finished grinding wheel.

2. When grinding with low surface roughness, coarse fine grinding should be carried out separately. The finishing allowance is generally 0.05 mm, and the workpiece clamping error is 0.1 mm.

3. The grinding process must be sufficiently cooled, to take away a lot of grinding heat and flushing to prevent clogging of the grinding wheel and the workpiece surface burn. Coolant must be clean, debris or sand can not be mixed, to avoid galling of the workpiece. For the grinding of stainless steel coolant, it is generally used as an emulsion with better cooling performance or with a coolant containing extreme pressure additives and a small surface tension. The flow rate is 20 to 40 L/min, and the diameter of the grinding wheel is 80 L/min.

4. The grinding allowance of stainless steel should be smaller. When grinding in outer circle, the grinding allowance on the diameter is 0.15~0.3 mm, and the grinding allowance is 0.05 mm. The margin for internal grinding is essentially the same as for cylindrical grinding. When grinding in the plane, For parts with small area and good rigidity, the residual amount of one side is 0.15~0.2 mm, and the parts with poor rigidity and large area have a grinding margin of 0.25 to 0.3 mm.
