Problems Needing Attention In Stamping Processing Of Aluminium Profiles

The aluminum alloy profile is light and soft relative to the steel material, and the stamping is easily broken. And some aluminum alloy products also need subsequent surface processing, such as drawing, anodizing and so on.
Aluminum profiles are particularly prone to top injuries and scratches in stamping production, so be sure to pay attention to the following issues when manufacturing stamping dies:

1. The aluminum profile is soft and the mold is easier to block. Therefore, when designing the mold to place the gap, it is better to place a gap of 10% of the thickness of the double material. The straight depth of the knife edge is more suitable for 2MM, and the taper is suitable for 0.8-1°.
2. When bending and forming, aluminum scraps are likely to be generated during bending, which may cause scratches and indentations. The aluminum profile needs to be coated with a PE film. In the case of a roller and plating, the molding block is preferably polished hard chrome.

3. Aluminum is brittle and easy to crack. Especially in the case of reverse hemming, so try not to do line pressing, if you have to do line pressing, but also to make the line wider, shallower.
4. For stampings that require anodizing.
If there is a flattening and flattening process of 180°, the product may not be completely pressed, and full compression will cause acid bleed. The 0.2-0.3MM seam is needed to allow the acid to flow out smoothly and in time. Therefore, the limit block must be made in this process and calibrated on the die.
5. For the case that the number of projects is not affected, the punching holes are arranged as far as possible in the rear engineering punching. Even for products with a large number of punches, consider doing more than one project and punching the punches in the back.
6. All aluminum cutting edges are required to be cut with slow wire to prevent burrs and blanking. Aluminum parts are prone to high temperatures, so the hardness of the punch is required to be 60° or more, at least with SKD11 or higher, and there is no D2 equivalent.

In addition to the above six requirements on the mold, the following points must be done in the stamping production:
1. Aluminum parts are more prone to heat, and they are hardened together. Therefore, when punching and unloading, it is necessary to apply some pressure on the material to press the stamping, so as to dissipate heat, and smoothly unblock the blank.
2. Products with more punching need to be cleaned to clean the surface of the mold. The molds and products are kept clean and free of debris, and the top injuries are reduced. It is found that the top injuries must be solved and solved before the mold can be solved.

3. Flattening the die push block will produce aluminum chips, so the aluminum chips under the push block must be cleaned every day after the push block is produced.
4. If the product has a large burr, it must be sent to the mold for repair.
If we can do the above, I believe that the yield of aluminum stamping production will be greatly improved, thus saving production costs and improving efficiency.
